i'm getting recaros for mine - buckets and 4 pt harnesses to hold driver and navi in. i might have a line on to some if you are interested. also if you are a small bloke like me - obx seats will suit you.
i spent a whole afternoon in a wrecking yard looking for seats that would bolt in but i didn't find anything decent. however, seats from grey import cars should be quite plentiful.

I've seen a few zooks with Feroza seats in them, no idea what's involved but they are comfortable.

If you are looking at imports etc try to find something out of a small car because you want fairly narrow seats. I have a pair out of an MX6 and they are great. Have seen a couple of GTi Swift installs and they are very nice too.

Zukin,
I have a set of stratos seats, they cost me $300 for the pair. I simply unbolted the old seats from the original zuk runners and bolted the new seats to the original zuk runners. I picked up these seats at Ichiban wreckers.

i'm running a pair of Autotechnica Monza racing seats... they were 300 each when i got them - but i know of someone who picks some up recently for 375 a pair...
simple installation - only required 4 holes to be drilled in the runners under the seats i think - they are the exact same width as the stocks but just a little longer.
still in pretty good nick after a year of mudding it... and i should point out one more consideration: If you are going to be getting in and out of your car all the time (i.e. because you are stuck in the mud or to hook up a strap to pull out someone else etc) i would suggest not getting any racing seat that it too much of a bucket - otherwise it just becomes too much of a hassle to get in and out of the car all the time - particularly when it is on an angle.
cheers mate.

what year model is your zook? my old 85 JX high top had lush seats, they were tops, the new 85 LWB is a JX, however it has a different interior to my old one. The seats have vinyl inserts and they're a funny orange colour, they look like something ive thrown-up after a heavy night on the turps. The previous owner put those gay-ass "moo cow" covers on em, they're comfy, however i dont wnat the zook looking like it'll take out the prize for best float at the gay & lesbian mardi gras!!!! The missus lurves em, something about adding character. Im gonna try and dirty them asap so i can get some plush new sheepskins.
Anyway, one word of warning, steer clear of the bargain basement cobra's, such as the clubmans, my mate installed a set in his rally car, non recliners, looked ok when new, however they tore and there is very little padding, they were garbage. Brand new he got em for 500 for the pair. Its always been a safe bet to try Japanese wreckers who stock alot of import cars. These Japan produced vehicles offer lots of refinements, however sometimes the electrics arent too good, especially if your truck ends up in the drink a bit.
Hope it helps.
Oh yeah, Megaman, those stratos look great for the coin. Blacks always a good colour, tends to go with any interior.

Bumping this thread.
Do the Swift GTi seats bolt straight in? If they do, will they fit with their rails or do would I need to bolt the seat onto the Sierra rail?
Also, another possiblilty I have is seats from an R33 Skyline, I'll probably have to make custom rail brackets or something.. but will these seats fit? How wide is too wide?
Here's a pic of the seat.

I got some Pajero Softtop import Seats of red rocket for the Viagra. Thanks mate.
They were almost identical in width but have more (and adjustable) lumbar and side support.
Bit of a prick to fit to get them just right (that's mainly due to the Vitara seat setup - dunno about the sierra never swapped a sierra seat) but they've been well worth it.
Just a tip - if you're worried about getting mud on the seats something like these Pajero seats where they're easy to wipe clean rather than plush velour is good. Most of the Jap import stuff (especcially ricer stuff like gti's) tends to the soft carpet textures which are really hard to clean.
Of course if you remember to leave the windows up when you throw mud then it dont matter.....
Now how do I clean the mud off the roof lining?

What roof lining .. your a soft top biatch
.. I want some of the RCI's for mine I rekon .. May have a look at the mininalist route and se eif I can get my Zuk weighing less than my Nissan as well as a hose out cabin .. as lest face it .. I am still a mud pig after all these years .. why fight it ...
Uphiir .. where did you get the RCI's and what did they cost ??? and is it possible to get soft covers for em (from memory they are plastic bucket type things arent they .. like an overgrown school chair)

if you want to test the seats out, go to an arcade and sit in the driving games. most of the simulators use rci seats.

aren't forums great. We start talking about seats and end up with mental pics of love_mud in speedos getting branded by a seatbelt.
The internet is truly the best thing since sliced bread

You are quite right Grimbo...
Now, since I contributed to this thread derailment I thought I could try redeeming myself by posting something useful
And what better to win the crowd over with, than PICS!!!!
So I went downstairs and snapped a few of my seats. Here we go...
