We have finally finished the front end of the pajero, its been engineered and drives very well on the road. we still have to fit airbags to the rear and powder coat and plate a lot of the parts but its driving around for now. Here is a list of what we ended up doing.
-Hilux diff housing swapped centre from left to right
-ORI Double arm reverse tapered
-Pitman arm adapter and custom draglink
-5 link with adjustable uppers and fixed lowers
-Polyflex bushes
-height adjustable air bags
-Rancho shocks with new towers
-Remove ABS System and re run all brakelines
-ORI Widetrack kit
-custom front shaft
and lots of other little things

What the plan to get more flex out of the rear of pajs?
What are the specs on that shorty? It seems to be running a 3" body lift and rear swaybar is still on...

We just made up a pitman arm adapter similar to the one we make for the toyota hilux. We just put a different taper on it for the pitman arm balljoint.

Yeah Very Impressed lachlan, certainly some food for thought. Work looks very nice from the pics.
Obviously cost has been asked, but also what timeframe did this one take? and now that you have done one and some of the design work has been done how long would another take to do. (just after ballpark figures)
And what portion of time/costs would you assign to the ABS work (just for us without ABS)

Oh yeah,
More questions
how much extra width does your widetrack kit give? and I know your front Hilux IFS hub conversion kit which I assume you used, is this just to match the rear original Paj diff? or did you widen the track rear as well??
Do you still have the Paj out there? was thinking for us sydneysiders a quick look at it might be great incentive to save up the bucks.

Being air bags this job was fairly expensive. Ballpark Figures for the front end exactly the same but with coil springs would be $5000-$6000. ABS work would account for about $200 now that we have sorted how to set the brakes up. This job took a few months as it was unregistered and a was not needed by the owner, I really just worked on it myself after hours to keep costs to a minimum for the owner. Hitting as a normal workshop job it would probably take 4 weeks depending on our work load.
We used the widetrack front end to best match the original front track 3inches wider all up, it ends up slightly wider than original but its common knowledge that a wider front track over rear will lead to better on road handling.
The conversion was really done with on road driveability in mind as it would be a useless vehicle if it didnt drive well on road. As it is, it drives almost as well as an IFS one, although adding front swaybars would bring it back as good as standard, I dont feel the need to add them at the moment.
It is at the workshop at the moment and will come and go while we finish bagging the rear so it will be around a bit.
