power steering

have a loud metalic clunk when going from lock to lock it only happens when full lock to the left

any ideas

any help appriciated

Check: Wheel bearings, Panhard Rod Bushes, Steering box to chassis bolts, Cracks in chassis where Panard Rod mounts to chassis--A strengthening bracket was later fitted here,Kingpin bearings,slop in tie-rod ends. Have someone turn from lock-lock while you look underneath..

thanks Nick the noise is definatly in or directly around the box and is sometimes a lot louder than others and it does affect the orientation of the steering wheel .

Some times if your got big caster plates the tie rod behind the diff will hit on full lock
