Hi guys,
A quick search for recommendations for the above suggests Castrol EPX 85/140 as a reasonable choice. Bearing in mind I live in the desert where air temps are often 40+ in summer, would the above remain a reasonable choice ?

GQ, 4.2lt Diesel with a factory rear locker if that matters....

Cheers

U want 80w90 in the gearbox and the transfer and the same in the front Diff.
You could also use VMX80 but as u are in heat id say go the 80W90.

Not sure about the rear with a factory locker, but ARB lockers Suggest using EPX 85W140.

cheers

80w90 righto ....... Would the EPX be too heavy for the gearbox and front diff ? Reason I ask is that I live in a remote community and was contemplating getting a single 20 litre drum of EPX in on the truck as a "One suits all" solution to change out all 3.

Not possible ?

EPX 80W90 will be fine.

but try and make sure the grade is somewhere around the 80 to 90 wieght some where.

Thanks Mr Screwball !!
As long as a single drum of decent 80/90 will do All 3 I am happy :D
