Runon Issues,

Hi Guys,
first up yes I’ve finally got the beast on the road all who may have viewed my dodgy pics of my zuk which a motorbike had a bit of a run-in with it before I purchased the poor old girl got it is now roadworthy and is (Cue Music) on the road again.

Anyway I’ve come across a new problem with the carby I think it extends from and I think it may have something to do with the auto choke.

I had a mate have a look at the carby as she was idling really low and we cranked that up a bit and she’s ok in the idle department but when he was around there he said "where’s the auto choke" I says " what do you mean where is it" he said " its f***ing Gone!" so I’m guessing this means the springs or something is gone any ideas on how I can disable it completely thus getting rid of hopefully my run-on issue.

FYI it only happens once the engine as warmed up if I turn the car off while its cool its fine just like a normal 1.3lt rubber band engine but once its heated it gets the run-on and I’ve been stalling it lately cause I’ve been told it causes damage which as I would imagine it would.

Thanks for your help! :D

On my old 1.3 I disabled the auto choke by disconnecting it linkages. I then got a manual choke cable form the auto store and connected that up so that I then had a manual choke of sorts. You just had to adjust the revs with accelerator, cause the choke no longer made it idle faster. But all that said I live in the snowy mountains and there wasn’t very often that even in the middle of winter that I would have to use my choke. So you’d probably just get away with disabling yours.
