Don't know the number off the top of my head - but there's a place (or used to be) called World Auto Importers in Sydney that do it all for you.

call the Department of Transport and Regional Services in Canberra and ask them how.

If the car is over 30 years of age real easy, if its 15-29 years pretty easy if it's less than 15 years old and you have not owned it for over a year, absolute PITA.
What sort of car?

A little off topic, but 80 yen equals 1 dollar, so those twin turbo GTR r32's are 10k in our money, plus 5 for expenses...half price...

aslong as they didn't sell it here it shouldn't be too hard, thats why we have all the rice racers here.

Check underneath the car for rust. The Poms use salt on their roads to break down the ice and you can see bad Rust in quite new cars.

from memory it is Mad Cruiser's family car in England when they were working over there.
Basically a car they've owned for a few years and importing to australia.

If you have owned the car for over a year, had it registered in your name for over a year and been in the vehicles country of origin for over a year you can bring it in as a personal import which is fairly easy.

Try somewhere like OSS or one of the international moving mobs, they do this sort of stuff all the time ..
