33's No Turbo

Guys,
Interested to hear from people who have put 33x12.5's on their TD42, that dont have turbos.
Am i going to
1) Place too much stress on engine and driveline components,
2) notice a drop in acceleration,
3) notice an increase in fuel usage.
Most people who mod these have a turbo, as i dont, I am wondering what the effect of adding 33's will be.
Also, is it necessary to go for the Toyota Offset rims. I have an OME 60 mm lift installed, can I just stick with a Nissan Offset.
Thanks
Andrew

Before I turboed mine:
1) They
should be fine. What diffs you got?
2) Yes however minimal, but yes you will as the gearing will be different.
3) Minimal but Yes.
60mm lift will be real close, mate had 75mm TJM lift and it wiped his OEM flairs with 33x12.5's. and Yes on the offset rims, otherwise will hit chassis lots and annoy you.

I have the standard diffs (92 SWB Diesel), so not sure what exactly they are.
I have the factory flares, so may be a prob.
So definately get the Toyota Offset Rims then?

1) look on compliance plate for HG41 HG39 etc. thats your diffs. more than likely HG41
2) yes, flexy flairs could be the go. Maybe see if you can fit some from a mates car before you go.
3) yes

I have 35"MT/R's on my shorty. It is no rocket ship but still does the speed limit, doesnt like overtaking though. And that is non-turbo 5spd and 4.1diffs.
I ran 285/75R16's on roh16x8 for 4yrs and the only real spot they rubbed was on the inner guard (I only had a 30mm susp lift). But they can still rub here with a 6" lift.
If you can get some aftermarket rims, last time I looked they where about $50 each. If not it might be worth trying a 33x10.5R15. I think Grimbo runs these and he is pretty happy with them. The only problem with these is that only BFG make them.

I ran 33's with 4.1's on a TD42 with no Turbo for 3 years. Around town, the difference wasnt really noticable, but on the open road with a headwind and a hot day is when it became really noticable--4th gear gets a fair bit of use. To get back the performance you lost, you really need to go to 4.3's on a TD42 without a Turbo..

How much do you think the 33's made in rev drop, as I am contemplating putting 33's on instead of 35's as there is not as much work involved..
My aim is to get my rpm down on the hwy, I am changing to 4.3 (from 4.6) diff ratio and I run a standerd 4 speed. Can any body tell me how many revs it will lose at 100km per hr with 33's and 4.3 diff ratio.
Currently it sits on 100km an hr, at 3200rpm, running 31's and 4.6's... I cant remember my maths that well so any help would be great..Aim to get it too 2200rpm at 100km per hr...
Power is not a problem in my jigger...350chev...

My truck with 35's and 4.6's @100km/h is at 2400rpm. From memory, when i had 4.1's and 33's it was 2000@100km/h. This second figure is approx as i didnt change speedo gears at the time. I think speedo read 10km/h over the actual speed. Both of these were in 5th gear

Well, i run 33's on my wagon, with standard 4.1 ratois, and i have no dramas, until i come to the hills, where i knock it back to 4th,
but other than that it holds 5 gear reasonably well,
but, i will be changing my diff gears to 4.6's in the very near future as im gettin them at a great price, one day, i will get 35's

i run 33 x 10.50s on my 91 4.2 petrol and it is fine just need to downshift on long hills. Fuel economy has chnaged slightly ie still crap. They fit on the 7" rims and tuck up nicely with a 3" lift
