Is 8" the widest legal rim that is allowable in Victoria? No ifs no buts?

VIC, i have no idea, bit in queensland there are afew loop holes.

Basically what ever size rim was fitted to the volvo axle +20mm in width and height is the largest you can run. Maybe vic is the same?

Can u or anyone else tell me how to get around the law relating to rims in vic.
THat is that my engineer tells me that 8" rims are only suitable for tyres 11" or less as i have 35x12.5x15 he told me that to engineer these tyres and rims it was imposible without getting 10" rims? Any more info on this would be great.

gtwebbie,

It is all up to the tyre manufature specs Some tyre companies say that you can fit 35*12.5 on a 8" rim then you are set you just need to show the engineer the tyre company specs on your tyre

Most tyre companies though will say 8.5" rim or wider ( means you need a 10" rim)

Some engineers will already have these details and maybe you should talk to another engineer who knows about this

Nam, read the 3rd paragraph under the heading WHEELS on page 2 of this document, then try to find the Vicroads equivalent..
