i have a supra 3L 7mgte in my hilux with g52, was a very easy conversion, except for the tuning cause im running aftermarket engine management, but i beleive the 2.8L 5m bolts straight in and the elecrics are fairly straight forward

ive just finished the 2.8 cressida/supra conversion in my 84 extracab. I believe it is what the car should have had from standard. good overtaking power and great to offroad with. cost me 1500 including expensive stuff ups.

engine cost 300
exhaust 300
misc sh*t 600
did it all myself slowly in about 5 months. i am on a student budget so this was the conversion for me. I feel as if i have fixed up toyota's underpowered mistake.
i have a few pics if anyone knows how to make them come up. i have no idea.

the best thing about this conversion is that it all bolts up with no fab needed. clutch being used is from the old hilux as it was a new one. power steer will come with your new engine, all you have to do is get some new lines made up by enzed or whoever. you get the bell housing and clutch setup off an old 5me powered piece of crap and tyhen use it on your 5mge.
I followed this guide roughly
http://www.4wd.net.nz/suprasurf.htm and it gave me heaps of help.

i am running an EMS dual sport, still havent got it up an running properly as there have been a lot of things go wrong, burning out ignitors, headgasket giving up, and burnt out coils. but i am hoping to have it running properly in next week or two.
