Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Does anyone have any experiences with 37" Goodyear MT/R's on a SWB GQ Patrol. Looking to replace our 35" BFG M/T's that are used for street running and club trips with something a bit different. Can get the MT/R's for $300 each, while BFG's are $375 each.

Interested to know how they perform in thick mud and clay compared to the BFG, as we've heard that the tread blocks don't clear too well. Keen to hear other people's thoughts on them though.

Also, truck is running a 4" susp lift, 2.5" body lift with rear quarters chopped, but no guard trimming. Do the 37's fit without having to trim the guards? Front diff has been shifted forward 12mm for clearance also.

dont know if this helps you much or not.

but i have a mate with 35 mtr's on a cruiser ute with front and rear lockers and he got stuck in this mud hole. then another mate in a dc hilux with 35 bfg's and front locker got through allright

it appeared that the mtr's weren't cleaning themselves as well as the bfg's

mtr's go alot better on the rocks though

dont forget cruisers are alot heavier than a hilux, so the hilux wont sink in any where near as much as the cruiser

I have 37 mtrs on a TJ, dont no what the weight diff is between the 2, but i dont have a problem in the mud with the tread blocking up, a bit of wheel spin cleans that up, but i found that the mtr would just sit on top of the clay type surface and spin as they are to wide to provide enough surface pressure to dig in, solved the problem with a set of 35x11.5 simexs,
But at about 6psi on the rocks the mtrs are unreal.
