whats involved with supercharging G16A

i have a 1.6 carby motor, and its almost time for a new motor, or to tune up the original.
i can get a supercharger from a 4AGZE motor. is it possible to s/charge the carby motor? and how?
there is a sierra up here, running only on gas, has a 4AGZE supercharger on it, internal wastegate, twin BOVs, and 20,000$ later, it has 110 hp at wheels.
or i was thinking maybe a mitsubishi sigma 2.4L or a scorpion turbo (carby.)
thanks for any help/advice.

Twin BOVS? Amusing.
If you were handy, it'd be a cheap thing to do, aren't those S/Cs only like $300? few hundred for piping, bracket fabrication, getting a pulley machined... could keep it under a grand I reckon if you did most of it yourself. You could use the stock carby hat too, if it seals up well enough... but you'd have to turn it around to face the exhaust side, that's where I'd mount the S/C if I was doing it.
I'm presuming they have similar engine bays to Sierras, I've never looked.

twin BOVs, he uses one before the S/C and one after. can't remember exactly what the reason was.
he runs full gas only, not unleaded,, something about the octane levels of gas crapping over the premium unleaded octane levels.
custom inlet manifold, and custom gas carby? set up, and its the first of its kind up here. over 2 years have gone into it, apparently.
in the sierra, everything was a tight fit, and not much room to move around. would be heaps easier in a vit.
could i have the S/C blowing straight into the carby? how would that work? i've seen someone mount a small turbo so that it was blowing straight into the caby, not big power, but worked. then there were problems with leaning out and flooding and other fuel issues.

yeah you *could* have the blower just pushing straight thru the carb, theoretically I guess, but carbies don't usually love being forced and act a bit funny. I looked into doing a similar thing to a Ford SOHC 2L once, injection really is the way to go if you can.

The Twin BOV will be a bypass for the supercharger under low load conditions. You can use a blow through setup with a supercharger but if you are going to do that you need to fit a rising rate fuel pressure regulator otherwise as the engine comes on boost it will push the fuel back out of the carby.

single point injection

isn't there a single point injection system for the 1600?
Basically replaces the carb i think.... then super should be easy, had CAPA recommend an Eaton M45 as a future on mine....

this is probably a useless bit of information, but .... the 4A-GZE corolla motor with the supercharger had a magnetic clutch mounted on the front of it (like an air con compressor), to dis engauge the s/c at idle. so why the second bov???
btw boost on these s/c's is raised or lowered by changing the diameter of the pulley.

Does anyone know where to get these 4A-GZE superchargers from and what actual prices they are asking?

a few japanese car wreckers have them (down south, melb/syd/adel), but you may have to call around. i know of just the supercharger going for as low as $300 for a good working one. but there are some places that may ask for $450+. you can pick up a 4agze motor/half cut for as little as $1800 (i think) but also depends on how 'whole' it is and the quality of components etc.
