Outer Limits 4x4 Board

OK fellas..

Ive started the POS...

Theres this just one problem i have atm.

The brakes are still the same as havin the car off.

Ive hooked up the alternator vacuum line (that runs off the alternator) to the vacuum tank system which in turn runs a line to the brakes.

Now... i expected the brakes to work.. but they dont.. Can anyone shoot me some info on where i could have gone wrong??

Leak in vacuum system???

or did i do it wrong??

there is a one way valve in the system, normally mounted on the fire wall, hhave you had this out?

also, there may be a small port for the vacume line for the air cond, about the size of a pin

There is a one-way valve just prior to the vacuum tank.It normally mounts on a bracket on the inner guard. There is also sometimes as mentioned, another TOff to feed the idle-up solenoid in AC equipped systems on the fitting that connects to the vacuum pump. If you need pixs, let me know--ive got some somewhere..

work it through from the vacuum pump back - grab a manifold vacuum gauge and plug it into the pump alone - is the pump acutally drawing vacuum? a problem common to toyota vac pumps is they strip the spline so that even though the alternator is spinning, the pump does not run.

then plug your vac gauge in with a t piece with everything else plugged in and see if there is still vacuum on the whole system. if yes, then there might be a problem with the booster. if no, then you have a leak.

good luck, vac leaks are a PITA to chase down sometimes.
