Replacement Fuel tanks

I am looking at getting a replacement fuel tank for my LWB GQ petrol. Currently it has the stock fuel tank and a LPG tank in the usual location under the car at the back. I want to increase my fuel carrying capacity by getting a larger tank.

What brands have people used and recommend. I've seen the ones advertised in 4wd Monthly from SA that seem to be a good price but at the price there is always a concern as to build quality.

The old man had LPG put into his rangie and ended up getting a new fuel tanks from Brown Davies as there was no room left in the normal spot after the LPG, what they did was 2 belly tanks running down each side of the rig. The only prob was filling as the fill holes were on each side thru the floor pan, but other wise didn't seem to cause and trouble.
I had given them a belting and they seemed to hold.

Where is your LPG tank located? Most Patrols like yours I have seen with LPG have had the gas tank fitted behind the rear axle where the original fuel tank was fitted and a petrol tank located in front of the rear axle on the drivers side. If this is how yours is and you want to lose your gas tank then a standard 90 litre tank (hard to find and expensive) or aftermarket replacement of around 140 litres should bolt back in.

In my MQ the LPG tank has been done as a belly tank
So at times I wonder wether to put another LPG in the rear to give a longer range

STD 95LT tanks should be easy to find. Just ask around people who have put long range tanks in. Cos there is one sitting in front of my shed, with bash plate.

As for aftermarket stuff. I have a LRA 147lt replacement tank. It seems to be good quality. I had 3mm plate put on the bottom instead of 2mm. As without a towbar the tank cops all the punishment. I also had it lifted to suit the BL. Cost was $890 and I picked it up from there Lilydale factory (which is very easy to find). They will also do custom stuff. As they built Trent Leens new tank (well thats atleast the story I heard). Also his last tank cop'd an absolute flogging and it still doesent leak.
