my vitara lately has developed a flat spot when ya go to accelerate out of corners or on the road, wherever. its only started happening since 82ZUK drove it, so i'm blaming her :P

so what could be causing it? it clears itself and accelerates normally after a second or two, but its a pita :x

I get a similar sort of thing with my g16b but it's not really out of corners that it does it, just all the time. Mine seems to have poor throttle response just off idle. Not sure if other g16bs are teh same coz i've never driven another.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Yeah, I got this problem to sort out as well.

The missus and I have both got G16b's, hers is a '92 ex Jap import with extractor and 2" exhaust other than that it's stock - it's quick off the mark and go's like a farkin rocket.

Mines a '93 ex Jap import with K&N filter standard exhaust rest is stock and so getting slower in throttle response and just seems to be getting gutless compared to hers. It pissing me off to no end so I was going to start robbing parts off hers to try pin point the problem with mine  .

check your airflow meters probably full of gunge or the terminals are corrodded

I'm pretty sure I have checked this b4 but will have another look, thanks! :)

If it's all clean do you think there's a chance it might be faulty? Might have to try get another to see if there's any difference...

i had similar probs with my feroza. it turned out to be a few minor things adding up to a bigger prob. first check timing, leads, plugs and distributor. if it has and electronic setup in the dizy then check it is all working properly and set correctly.
2nd check for any cracked or loose vac lines as they might be ok at low revs but leak at higher revs.
and last be carefull where ya get ya fuel from. some of the independants use the cheapest and shitest fuels they can buy.(stuff the big boys wont use-bad batch etc)

oh and make sure ya not sucking air into intake after the airflow meter this causes big probs for the efi system.

check you T.P.S
it should be double pulsing the injectors just as you snap the throttle.

get a multi metre and find the wire that reads around 5 volts as you lift the throttle off idle.

it will read around 0 volts on idle.you need to adjust the tps to read close to 5 volts above idle. :D

happens to mine too, me just living with it. mine bogs down right on 2000 rpm with light throttle. med or heavy throttle, it zooms straight past. having an auto, when it plays up, i kick it down a gear or two and off i go again. it's more work for me to find it and fix it than to just live with it.

not sure if it's true, but had a specialist (suzuki) suggest i have the injectors cleaned. i was asking about if it could be the HT leads.

sorry about being speculation.
