Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Allright guys im looking at joining a club either LROCV or RROCV
what club are you guys in and would you recommend joining.I have looked at there websites and spoke to them at the 4wd show but want to here from some members.I am leening towards LROCV but there meetings are a bit far away.I enjoy all types of wheeling from the hard stuff through to touring and would like to join a club that has good family orientated events
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You might like to consider Yarra Valley if it is not too far for you.

for what your talking about the LROCV club would be more suited very family orientainted

If you want to be pro-active join LROCV they have lots on their plate and a wealth of information + the family thing.

P.S. Having said that I should probably join up myself..

I have found that up here in Brisbane, the RRC is a bit more 'social' and tend to do the cheese and wine thing, wheras the LR club is more off-road oriented and technically minded, as well as a wealth of info to be taken in I have found.

I am a member of both clubs, both good in there own ways and wouldn't say that one is better than the other. Full of great people who enjoy the same intrests and met some grest pweople over the last few years being involvedin both.

Hope you find this so in the Vic LR/RR clubs

Hmmm. Alright, all good news there Kev.

My membership with LROCV will run out next week. I have been a member for 1.5 years and am thinking i will now try Yarra Valley as i haven't found LROCV quite as satisfying. I'm not saying theres anything wrong with it though.

I am 30, single, no kids, work Mon-Fri 9-5 and found that i can't find alot of trips to go on that suit. I have been on about 4 over that time and had a good time but found that alot of the members were older and .... more conservative perhaps. I was surprised at times by what they felt was difficult, and i felt it was looked down on when i wanted a beer after a day driving.

I went away for one weekend with YVFWD and had a blast, so i'm giving them a try.

As for info, i find alot more of it right here on OL4x4. I had a straight forward post on the LROCV website that i thought would get a lot of replies and after a couple of weeks there wasn't one that was helpfull.

Up to you though, these are my circumstances, and my 2 cents.

I have to agree here, not all clubs are for everyone. it's a matter of finding out what you have 'common' ground with the bulk of the membership.

The RRC qld are more in the older catagory, but there is a few of the youger crew (such as me at the ripe age of 27 ) who like to have fun and do the more challenging stuff. I found it was a way to meet people of like mindedness and sometimes do our own thing. The LR club the same likewise.

I do some of the club trips, if there challenging enough
