the new Rangie

G'day,
Just bought a 83 Rangie 4 dr 4 spd manual for $2700 off one of the other webpages, was originally $3100, but got it a bit cheaper but you never pay full price when you can advoid it, especially if your'e cheap like me
Generally, it's a reasobly straight rust free example. there a bit of rust to fix under the b-pillar where it wraps around on the sill (easy and quick repair). There is no corrosion on the doors or any rust in the floorpan and sills.
The engine and gearbox are fine (funny driving a manual after having auto Rangies/Disco for the last 6 years). Gearbox wise it's as quiet as a LT95 would nornally be (whining, then it's still working okay), apart from the thrust bearing which is a bit noisy. Engine is good, runs smooth and although a bit of a slug, doesn't blow any smoke (maybe used to my 3.9 EFI too much ). There's plenty of surface rust on the diff housing which means there is no oil in anyhting or it doesn't leak. Maybe LR put a bit more effort into this one
Well, I'm rapt in it. it's not the most immacualate example, got a few shopping trolley scrathches, hasn't been F#@$%d around with, generally tidy and it was a good price. Plus I get 4 months rego with it too and a few spare bits
Now just have to pick it up tomorrow from the Sunny coast. Funny, Aquarangie come from there too, maybe an omen
Regards,
Trav
