OK i have a K-mar rear bar and Carrier on the back of my Stocker MQ.
I need to put 2 tow hooks on the back of the rig for trials.
Now the problem ive got is they cant go underniether the chassis with no room between the bar and the spring shackles.........
So i have 2 options.
the first is the question i have to ask u.
HOW STRONG ARE THESE CARRIERS?
CAN I MOUNT A TOW HOOK HERE ( as shown in pic ) ??????
IF I CANT MOUNT A HOOK ON EITHER SIDE IN THIS POSITION, THEN I HAVE TO REMOVE THE BAR FOR TRIALS TO PUT TOW HOOKS IN AND PUT IT BACK ON AFTER.......
cheers

I dont think it is strong enough. Do you need one or two. Why not get one of those GQ ones for the middle and plate the inside for extra strength.

Screwy ,Those hooks break!!.They can not take a sideways pull and they snap the solid bar.You should be using a forged "rated" hook ,ie Bushranger,Black Rat etc, which are designed to open out and release the rope with out breaking and leaving a missle flying towards the poor sod helping you out. Reinforce the centre and mount from the factory point on the rear cross member.

run some rated eyes and screw em onto as close to the chassis mounts of the rear bar as possible.. for strength as its weaker further away from the chassis mounts as it causes stress on the welds/bolts
like my bullbar...
they are inside the chassis mounts which cheezy did on all of his bars and its i believe perhaps the strongest location to have em.
do you have to have your hooks so far outside the bar??

Tom,
No i dont have to have them that far out on the bar, but thats the only way i can see i can mount them.
I do have the other design of hook but they wont fit there either.....
And i cant mount them on the cross member as i cant get the nuts on, and i dont wish to weld them on as i plan on selling the car after nissan trials...... and want to hang onto the hooks.
I can see the eye mounts working well for me as u have them Tom but would the car be strong enough to to use those eye mounts on there........
Also where can i pick up those eyes relitively cheapely? as repco doesnt have that type...... or any of the other auto stores similar.
cheers

most 4x4 shops should have those eyes. Cheezy sells em as well..
I would imagine that being close to the chassis mounts would obviously be the strongest place to have those eyes. I'll hear other peoples opinions on this as well.

Swap the rear bar off of the yellow rig with the rear bar off of the Green rig.....
Fit the hooks to the solid back bar I made for ya and ya laughin
This way the hooks wil allready be there for when you comp the green rig and you wont have to do a heap of work for nothing !

quiet kingy! his not that smart

after all he had to call cheezy chasing pics of coil setups
Those eye's should be bought from a bolt shop or similar, & get rated ones
