OK guys, I may be considering a chop for my SWB :D :D :D
I'm still not sure how I want it to look so I would like to see some pics of SWB ute conversions. Tried searching on the net and here and very hard to find pics.....

Yeah I have seen the 'Project Shute' one....

My idea was to have a flat tray with nice phat roll bar
Tray big enough to have at least 35" wheel laying down but with very little overhang on the rear to get a good departure angle. This may mean chopping a bit of the chassis and relocating the fuel tank. Hopefully there will be enough room under the tray or somewhere... :?
Was also thinking of making some sort of removable wheel mount that bolts onto the down tubes of the roll bar so that it would leave room for stuff on the tray (tool box, fridge if I ever get one...)
What do you reckon?

A mate of mine is also about to chop his LWB GQ into an extra cab
Has anyone seen any of these? Pics? He wants a few ideas aswell...

mmmm.

It seems to be a goer for myself as well....

However I am gonna try something a litttle different with regards to the tray. I am a roof tiler and a gq ute would be handy especially with a tray with two big fat tubes for ladders and tile elevators etc. I am thinking nice and high for a 36" simex spare no over hang at rear but with drop sides and two big tubes one behind cab other at rear. Less panels...

I hate my shorty cab it is a nightmare to fit anyone in the back :x . Realistically it is only a two seater. But I love the benefits of the Shorter Wheelbase....

The opportunities for a tax write off as a promo vehicle are good as well. But it should be the first practical shorty ute.

My thoughts anywayz...

Oh yeah I was saying earlier in some other random post that Binskins 4wd has been sold to Glenn Marshmann, lovely guy. Glenn Binskin also sold most of his trucks as well including that orange shorty ute of his for $25,000. I don't know if you have ever seen it or have the 4wd monthly with it in it......... but that I tinks was such a bargain. He sold it to some bloke in sydney me think.....

How random...

I have day off work...
