hilux lexus v8 has any one done this useing the lexus auto if so how did
u adapt gearbox to transfor

I am currently in the middle of this conversion.

Use the auto that came out of the Half cut, and a transfer case out of the surf will/should fit. There are a couple of choices that are available. The output shaft will have to be changed to the 4wd output shaft, and if i'm not mistaken, one hole has to be tapped. Other than that it should fit. There are a number of guys who have already done this swap. I would tell you were to look, but i cant remember as i printed them and they are at home.

The electrics are a bit of a hair raiser, but not beyond basic research and some mechanical/electrical knowledge.

try contacting Haltech in Bay Rd, Taren Point (Sydney). They muck around heaps with these motors, they actually have one in an engine dyno to test their fuel injection systems. They may know about the auto transmissions aswell, if they don't they may know who does.

Guts is fitting one of these engines at the moment or similar any way he has opted to keep the hilux manual im i carnt remember why pm him he might be able to give some input.

When I was going to go auto I was going to use a T 700 as you can easly buy an adaptor for it to a gear driven t case. With the standard lexus auto I haven`t found any way of using a gear driven case, only the chain driven case and since I run rockhopper gears there is no way I was going to go to a chain case.


But I ended up using the 5 speed as it was cheaper and easier then going to auto, not as strong but way cheaper
