Ok i've only just worked out that this section was here......blind as a bat.....(thanx croz)

I was just wondering if anyone knew if i've have any drama's by putting a higher ampage alt. in my feroza. It's currently running 55 amp's but i'm trying to convert it to an 80 amp commodore alt. I have a sparkie fitting all the plugs for me but i just wanted to be 100% sure that i wasn't gunna start blowing fuses and crap.

any advice would be great.

no, won't be any problem at all.

the alternator is a voltage regulated supply so no matter what its rating it will continue to supply around 14 volts until the load exceeds its capacity. What are you running on a feroza to require extra alternator capacity?

I'm running a few spotties but nothing too extreme. Main reason is that i've now gone trough 2 feroza standards alt's and i just dont wanna pay for another. Commo alt. is cheaper, has more amp's (if ever required) and from what i hear is a much better all round alt.
