I was running 285/75R16's (33") tyres for 5 years with only a 30mm lift. I have since fitted a 50mm BL and am now running 35"tyres with only a small amount of cutting of the guards.
I would think that 4" would be ample for most peoples use. Once you go to the next step. There is a much higher chance that alot more stuff needs to be replaced. Where as some people have gotton away with a 4" lift with no mods other than the coils and shocks.

I would suggest longer brake lines though. Also like this the castor will most likly be right on the limit of safe handling.

(but what would I know I only read alot and a have a 30mm coil lift)

The longer break lines and castor do come in kit anyway so thats not a problem. Just was wondering will I have any rubbing with 4'' lift and these tires offroading.

I know of people with 6" kits that can get the std tyres to rub. But 33's will be alright. I ran 33's with bugger all lift for 5 yrs no proplems.

When I got my shorty the first thing I whacked on it was 33's...
It had a sagged 25mm lift... Didn't rub much at all.... I am having more dramas now with my 4-5" lift at full flex...

But for those tyres go a 2" lift and all will look super sweet.

I am going 35's....sooo the need for a larger lift....

I will shutup now...

conflicting info!

my thoughts, there is no right or wrong answer, you ask 10 people and you'll get 15 answers back.... you can put f'all lift in there and have big tires and have shity suspension with less flex than a speed bump and not scrub, and on the other hand. you can get scrub with little tires and a dam big lift if your suspension flexes,

i just upgraded to 35mtrs, following 33's that scrubbed slightly on inner guards even with cruiser offset rims,

therefore in my opinion if you want good suspension and semi road legal truck for reasnobly cheap i would expect a little scrub

im currently looking to replace springs that have sagged to about 3 inch( have blocks aswell) from 6 with 5inches,

thats my limited thoughts leading into my next post above

Mate has LWB GQ with 3inch lift, and runs 33x12.5 MTR's They hit as they did with my 6inch lift and 40mm bodylift....
