i did a 3 inch lift on my LWB ages ago b4 i went 5.

No problems with panhards etc.

Just watch the brake lines.. i just unbolted the rear brake line off the mount on the diff pumpkin for added security.

I have 3" in LWB GQ, no adj Panhards, but got offset Castor bushes after old ones wore out, now it steers like factory, made a huge difference to mine, so I personally would wack a set of castors in to correct after three inch lift.

was going to put 3 degree castor bushes in.
is that the right amount?

I think from memory mine were only 2deg, but I am not going any higher lift wise than three inches, you might be able to use 3's if your mate is likely to change his mind in the near future and go higher again? Or if you are running extra heavy duty coils that give you plenty of lift and won't sag too much.

I have heard on here that it is a general rule that one degree castor for every inch of lift.
