We think it will Patrick.
The bellhousing is VERY close between the 3.0 to 3.5 V6's.
However no-one I know of has actually done it so we can't be a 100% sure. A mate is soon doing a 3.5 V6 conversion into his Gen 2 swb 3.0 V6 (he has the motor) so we will know for sure.
I spent hours at wreckings yards comparing stuff and it's very close but you will have to use a 3.5 V6 clutch though.

cool I bet if the engine bolt pattern is different from the tranny i'm sure the bellhousings will swap just like the v6-4cyl on the km148 does.

I have an NF myself. Just finished havin a transplant done from the 3.o ltr to a 3.5 ltr 24 valve magna mtr. Quite a few mods had to be done.
For eg. Rocker covers to be changed, hits on fire wall. Manifolds had to be changed ,come out at wrong angles, due to being origanally east -west mtr. Eng mounts to be changed. Sump to be changed, interferes with crossmember. Oil pickup changed. Bit of extra wiring to be done. And a good mechanic to get it to run properly.. Before the transplant it wouldnt pull the crust off a rice pudden, Now it cracks.........

Excellent! cool well thats awsome man i bet that thing moves right along now. I'm pretty happy with the power mine has if anything i'll swap a 2nd gen 3.0 in but thats way down the road. Right now i just want the big tranny and transfer case and the fact i can get 3.15's for the t\case is also a very ruling thing to look forward to. Also found a reliable shop here to put them gears in for me couldn't trust any one round here to do it right till now.

Thats interesting but the Magna engines are standardised because both versions (3.0 & 3.5 V6 SOHC) were used in the same vehicle with the same transmissions. Is yours an auto or 5sp ???

Lord: Do you already have the tranny/tcase? I've been day dreaming about an Active-Trac Gen I SWB ever since I started the turbo project. Buying the parts seems a bit pricey. I've been watching auctions for a rollover. Saw one awhile back now but didn't pull the trigger. There were actually two SR that went through. Oh well...
The thing is I'd want to do it to my 2.6T, and with a 5-spd Gen II. That doesn't look like it will happen too easily on the bolt up as the KM145 doesn't have a bell housing per se.
And on that note, does anyone know if the inout shaft on a 3.0L Gen II 5-spd will fit into the 2.6?

Yeah the splines are the same but the linkages are different.
You will need the V6 5sp as well.
The super select combo is 4" longer that the non super select V6 version so some mounting mods are required as well as a V6 super select rear propshaft.
