My AirCon compressor has crapped itself in my GQ Shorty. I have been quoted $400 for a new one. Is that good? i have seen in the archives people have used sanden 508. What are these worth new??? Basically im trying to get out of this cheap so i can afford my front locker and rear bar still!!!

The 'Diesel KIKKI' type compressor is pretty common in a lot of other Nissan cars. There were some different types--if looking at wreckers, look for the type that has cast iron hose connections that screw into the back face of the compressor itself--Some late model Pulsars and Skylines had these..

my ac pump/ compressor just imploded also - thanks to willowglen bog hole.
ho hard is it to convert the pump, when i replace it to pump air to a tank rather tan use it as an ac pump? Is there a different pump that I should look for instead?
I don't use the AC much, so don't mind loosing it for a better cause!

Sanden 508 is the most relable compressor to convert to use as an airpump and it will bolt up in place of the existing Diesel KIKKI type if fitted. Use braided hose on output of compressor to handle the heat generated. Pack compressor crankcase with HTB bearing grease as lube. Diesel KIKKI compressor seems to pump more air, but is prone to siezing when only pumping air due to its internal design..

Thats what I paid for mine when I was going to do the Endless Air thing, went to pick a part in Greens Rd Dande, and took it off the old Chrysler Sigma myself. took the hoses and all, $30 or 40 cant remember now, was 2 yrs ago.
Woop would know whats involved in fitting it, Im betting its not a straight fit, but for the price....

Yes used.
Find one still connected to the car, with pressure still in the lines.. if its holding pressure I would guess it works....
