ok, so i decided to load test my PTO winch on the weekend after i eventually had it all sorted and the cable broke. It was 8mm steel cable with the hemp core. I'm wondering what sort of cable everyone else uses and what length?

I use 10mm steel rope that came with it. Nothing fancy. Would love some lighter stuff though.

Wire rope for 4x4 winches should have wire rope core not fibre rope core.
Also wire strength should be 1770 MPa not 1570 MPa.
