Alloy rims, any difference in Suspension action?

Post by Milamber »

Hiya all,

I am tired of looking for a 2nd hand set of nice rims so am biting the bullet and getting a new set.......... I am looking at some steel speedy chromies, but if any one has noticed vast improvements in suspension action when lighter alloys are fitted maybe I'll wait and get alloys (Solid axle lux D/cab).

Any thoughts?

Cheers.

the lighter your wheels and tyres, the better it will feel and there may be a marginal on-road handling improvement, but any gains are likely to be minimal. if you intend to go offroad at all, get cheap steel rims - (a) they don't break when they get whacked - just bend (b) they are cheap to replace when you do rooger them.
