Ripping the roof off a 40

Hi guys,
I want to take the roof off my SWB, I know they unbolt and pretty easy but my seat belts a retactables ?? can you get non retractables or where would I be able to mount all seat belt brackets ?
any ideas ??

If you take the roof off, you should have a roll bar instaled. Most roll bars have mounting brackets for retractable seat belts installed (well mine did), so its usally just a matter of buying some new bealts, and or using your existing ones.

also be aware that in some states you will have to get the roll bar installation engineered, as well as the new seat belt fixings

yeah I went through this in qld. apart from all the spec the rollbar metal has to be regarding wall thickness and OD your seat belt mount holes in the rollbar has to have crush tubes installed to stop the rollbar tube from buckling in when tightening up the seat belt mount bolts. PITA but not many other options.

yes bj in vic to attatch the seatbelts to the rollcage LEGALLY they MUST be engineered with crush tubes welded in and a specific high tensile bolt speak to daz his engineer told him off cause his seatbelt bolts where too strong or something so he will be able to tell you the goss i know mine will pass a engineeres cause daz had it approved then the gov stuffed with the engineering licences or something
