Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hello,
Can anyone suggest a lift kit for a SWB 92 VITARA?
My sister bought one a couple of months back and would like to put some bigger rubber under it.Only has 215/80r 15 @ the moment and would like to go up one size if possible?
Whats the biggest she should go before she has to change ratio's?
The original springs are cactus so any help would be great!

How big do you want to go?

Not too big she has to drive around the city and some fwy stuff, but just enough to cover tyres the next sise up! Probably 2-3"!

Go buy the off the shelf kit for the LWB 4 door vit - the springs give more lift.

That should give you a tad over 2 inches.

If you want a 3rd inch you could go for a small body lift or some coil spacers.

That should be enough for 30/31 inch runner. Stock gearing should be OK...

Funny you should post... I'm doing a 2" Body Lift this weekend on a '92 Vitara SWB. No kits, just stuff I had some help finding around Melbourne. I'll try and post pics and details on how to do. From what I've heard here a million and one times is..2" is alright..3" is a F***ING PAIN!

shouldn't just a suspension lift (a bit over 2") be enough for 235/75/15 or 30x9.5x15?

a 3" B/L is a pain, you need to extend: fuel filler hose, some brake lines, steering shaft, transfer and gear shifters, and on efi, air box hose.

thats all ok, but its actually getting the lift blocks in thats real bad, for a 3" block, you need to lift the body off the chassis about double (6") to get the blocks in and on the studs. this means disconnecting a few things that don't need extending. for a 2", its only 4" or so off the chassis.

and when doing body lifts for more than 2", try, if possible, to lift the body off the chassis all at once keeping the body level. lifting one side at a time more than 2"-3" can bend the studs on the other side.

Not interested in a Body lift, just the suspension would be great!

I will likely be doing a 2" suspension lift next year. So, let me know how it goes for you. I've hear that Calmini does a lift kit, as does Rock-Steady (4" and 2.5") .. both are $$$. I'm hearing that OME is the way to go..

2" suspension lift should clear 235/75/15 ok.

That's gonna give you 3" more clearance under all the car but the rear diff centre.

Well, since it's been dug up, for future searchers- i fit 235/75/15 with 30/15mm spacers

well for future searchers, i clear 235/75/15 with nothing but stock parts (as far as i know)

Well thats proof to all the noobs & non believers that the search function does work!

i went with the ome lift with 30mm coil spaces all round as well( gave me a little over 2 inchs) and am running 235 75 15s no worries at all.would easy get 31s under her.. all up was about $1700. works well...
