I use to own a sierra and fucking loved it off road, but the engine died and gearbox went, so i bought the 80
Now I wonder whether I should get a vitara or sierra, I would like a few extra comforts eg Air con for driving to work etc but wanna do some serious off roading aswell, so I'm having some trouble deciding what to do, any suggestions?

SAS = Solid Axle Swap. this means swapping the IFS on the vit for a solid axle diff, like the sierras. also known as Rigid axle.
Vitaras all have IFS (independant front suspension), which limits any front wheel travel. good for comfort, but thats mainly all.

I saw a 2000-2003 shape Vitara for $14k at a car yard.... not quite enough for the SAS budget. Easily do one on the earlier shape - a 93 or later LWB can be bought for $7k and up.
thanks
