Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Ok, im faced with a few options- i either need to:

Rebuild my 2.8D and turbo it- $2000-$3000 for the rebuild, and another $3000 for the turbo kit


replace the 2.8 with a 5L 3.0D motor and turbo that

Motor, 4-5tho, turbo 3000...


Or maybe replace the 2.8 with the 1KZ-TE motor- half cut of a vehicle, got NFI what thats worth to do...


but will the 3.0TD bolt onto the G52 gearbox, or will i have to replace it the TD hilux box???

Definatly DONT do a rebuild or second hand motor!
Go and price a complete brand spanker crate motor from toyota.
A 5L is around $5600.
Brand new with injector pump and stuff.
Not sure on price for a 1KZ-TE though would be more I guess caus you need electronics and turbo etc.
Motors are about the only part Toyota does cheap .

Of course if you want to fancy stuff like balance and blueprint, ported head etc you will need to rebuild but if not it costs only a little more for new.

and before i start exploring this option, will a 1KZ-TE bolt onto a G52 gearbox?
