Well I have rung around and all the wreckers are on drugs, they want over $1000 for p/s to suit a hilux, so I guess I will have to get creative. I have noticed a few of you guys are running what you call cross over steering. Just woundering if you are fabbing it up your self or is someone down here making it ?

yeah we fab our own crossover
it is quite simple, and very similar to the way a 60 series power steering conversion is done on a 40 series
just with a spring over

It's almost like they are trying to run a business!

The hardest part about the crossover setup is the steering arm. The best and most legal way to go is the one from chaos which I heard was around $380. The other safe option is to go histeer at $650 (I think) for the arm from snake or chaos but I don't know whether they are ready for production. BJ is selling his histeer arms.
If you want to go the cheaper and dodgy method, then weld up your own arm. I have one of these that I would sell (to fund histeer) but is FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY. ie don't sue me if it contributes to an accident coz it's far from a legal mod. Although the way in which it is constructed has been coppied my many before and after and is the safest way that I can see to achieve the desired results. I also copied this with the help of Ruff and his hilux.
mmm

Where abouts in Brisbane are you? The arm is currntly on my vehicle so it may be an advantage to see set up on a vehicle. PM me if you don't want to disclose your location.

I'll be working 7 shifts this week but will be home sunday. As this is my only day off (I'll be working probably 7 days a week until easter) I won't want to drive out to your place. :( But if you want, I'm only at Clayfield so you could drop in?
Call me if you want to organise something 0439 998 260
