Measurement of 4.4 manifold spacers

Could anyone running a 4.4 and using manifold spacers measure the thickness of the spacers for me. Mine measure exactly one inch but i have a suspicion that they are a little bit too high because i am having some issues having the injectors line up without having the spacers out too wide and causing the rocker covers to not seal properly.

Thanks. :)

Just measured mine, and the best I can get is 18 or 19 mm.
It's hard to measure with all the crap in the way, but they are way less than 1 inch.

I'm running an original Rover manifold with twin carbs.

Thanks for that, i gave up with the tape measure, got a bit string and did it that way. ;)

I used a set of vernier calipers with a depth gauge.
A PITA with all the hoses and stuff in the way, but at least it's a ball park figure.
Getting the angle right was also difficult.

As an aside, my spacers are held in with allen screws.
I have just replaced an exhaust valve, and have cured a vacuum whistle due to some of the allen screws being loose.
They are now loctited.

I manufactured new inlet manifold/spacer gaskets and found that the manifold blocks off water galleries.
This could be due to mine having rover heads instead of P76 heads.

Yep, I'm running Rover heads and it does the same. P76 heads must be different.

Does anyone else have the manifold spacers? I just want to confirm mine are too tall (not that i dont believe you Ralf). The EFI ones should be the same as the carby ones I'd imagine.
