lost a bit of power on the 80 since i upgraded to 35's
I reckon about 15%
would like to get power back close to what it was.
thinking an upgraded exhaust might be the go.
has anyone put extractors and a free flow, larger exhaust on an 80 series petrol.
what size did you go to
and how much more power did you get.

it cost me about 600 just for the extracters
it's 2 1/2 inch had 1 muffler on it at first but sounded
like absolute shit made this flapping type noise so i
got a res put on it. it's still loud but not excessive.
all up cost me about 1100 bucks. but i had flanges
put in so i can remove the pipe for when i do a
clutch kit so that was extra.

did this improve power, performance much
last car i had was a feroza and by doing this i got a huge increase in power
however they have ver small exhausts to start with
the landcruiser already has a fairly large one so i wasn't sure if you would get that much benifit or not?

not to sure about power increase as the original
exhaust manifold was cracked when i got it so i
only had it 2 days b4 the new one went on. i did
notice that it reved better. i'm happy with it. it
has to be a bit better by going up in size 1/2 an
inch and losing a muffler.

I switched to the 105 headers and ran the a 2 1/2" system inboard so I could bolt my rocksliders on.
There's a post on here somewhere.
The orginal big ass muffler was replaced by a freeflow turbo muffler... big mistake, sounded like a nimrod at mach2, and when everyone looked around to see the hottie they spied the fat bus instead
Ended up with a longer fatter muffler and am now happy.
Cant say if it helped with the power, but in conjunction with a K&N filter the throttle response is heaps better.
I run 35's daily.
