Use standard rear springs, they bring the front axle forward about 50mm giving a better approach angle. :D

ive got a set of standard ifs rear springs in the shed, if i use these and the snake racing 50mm dropped front crossmember what length shackles should i use, to gain a 4 inch lift, and how do i know exactly where to weld on the spring hangers?, and what about castor angle will i need to use wedges or rotate the knuckles?

With extended shackles... you get 1/2 an inch of lift for every inch you extend the shackles.

To fix castor angle.. cut and rotate knuckles, there is a tech article in the tech section. Or fit a double-cardan joint if you dont change the castor angle.

Ifs rears are longer than standard rears and you'll need to make up a combination of packs, Iused the 3 top leaves out of the rear pack and the bottom 3 leaves out of a standard front pack. The hanger is mounted under the front crossmember and can be postioned to suit your springs. If your using IFS rears then the hanger will need to be positioned forward, also you'll need some banana shackles for the rear if your using throught the frame. I used 1.5" longer than standard shackles and 2" hanger.
