Hi all - while I am not new to wheelin', (currently own Jeep Wrangler (vice pres MJOC) and series 1 discovery as family car) I haven't owned a Suzi since I was 18 and bought a new LJ80. - Since then, I have owned Patrols, Hi Luxes, Jeep and Land Rovers, but the Suzi still has great memories.
My son has just bought a Drover, front and rear Lock Rights (and don't they make the steering heavy!!) Warn winch, roll bar, fibreglass roof, 30" BFG's and spare G13a which I will reco before dropping in. Paid $3700.
What he would like to do is keep the fibeglass section over the driver and passenger, but replace the rear section with a windjammer and tray cover. Are these available in Oz?
I have just replaced oil and filter, and front and rear diff oils with hypoid as recommended - is there any other basic maintenance I should do, not knowing the history of the Suzi? Where is the best place to run diff breathers (just to the firewall?)
Anyway, looking forward to being a part of this forum - I am a regular poster on ausjeepoffroad.com, and feel that these types of forums are invaluable
Thanks guys and girls!!
PK :D

Welcome PK.

What do you mean by wind shield?

You can buy a glass rear off a maruti ute to make the drover a ute. If you want to close the the ute top off with something solid check out our member "ca18escort" members thread. Their you will find a great link to building your own lid.

What is a maruti ute? Any pics?
A windjammer is common on Wranglers - basically a "soft " rear wall of a ute, complete with window which goes down behind front seats to create a ute

I know someone who is selling a Windjammer in Sydney and if you want we can buy it between the two of us so I can keep the bikini for myself.

 Is you son on his learners? we are a very learner friendly club and while I cant speak for myself (Im on my Ps) there are very experienced people only too happy to supervise on club trips. A very good way to learn both for on and off road driving. If hes on his P's there is a few of us around that age who go for a play almost every couple of weeks. He is most welcome to come with us next time we go.
