Hilux X over steering help

Hey all,
I'm considering doing x over steering on the lux cos the other power steering box has had it. I was looking at the snake racing stage 1 kit for $1350 but then noticed the stage 2 kit had a few extra bits and pieces. Now what i'm confused about is that can you make the x over steering with just the IFS hilux box and the stage 1 kit?? Or do you need the 50mm crossmember spacer and the other extra bits to do the conversion?? Just trying to price up what i'm looking at for the entire setup. Anyone who has done the snake racing or ORI X over steering any help would be great. Ie what it cost and what parts you need. Cheers guys

do you need to put in the 50mm front crossmemer spacer in for that kit?? Because I don't really want to have to do that. because doesn't it mean you can't get an arb bullbar if you use this spacer??

i had 2 put the spacer under but due 2 the body lift i have modify the b/bar any way this w/e
if your tight 4 cash buy 1m length of 50x100mm tubing from metal shop and slowly 9inch your current spring mounts then weld your mounts to the tube then the tube 2 the chassis & so on

i thought that a 4 runner and hilux ifs box are the same thing ???????
you do have to put the dropped cross member in the front other wise the arm off the box will hit the springs
go for the snake racing kit comes with everything you need including longer studs arms the rods and the tie rod ends and the 80s pitman arm
i have done mine and three others like it and doing hunterlux s car at the moment

Í don't think Guts runs a dropped front cross member on his Hilux, so it must be possible to run hi steer without a dropped cross member.

you need like atleast 4" of lift to run the histeer in the front so you can either run 4"+ lifted springs or drop ya hangers 2" and run a nicer flatter spring pack in the front

My front springs are only about 3 inch lift and I don`t have dropped hangers. My box is mounted so that the pitman arm JUST!!!!!!!! misses the bottom of the rail, my bump stopps are about 20mm extended and at FULL stuff on the drivers side it will JUST touch the spring. If I wasn`t going to coil coils in a year or 2 I would drop my front hangers 2 inches and move them forward about an inch and run a spring about 2 inches longer then standard.

If you read my post you will see that I should have the dropped hangers to stop the steering touching at full stuff.

I dropped mine down with Bootie Fab and not drop down crossmember, as had the prob of the mounting of the ARB Bull Bar, 12 months and not one single crack, can send you a pic if you want to know more, took me about 2 hrs all up, and cost me my time
