Which Tyre?

I've got a GQ Patrol and am getting to the stage where I want a second set of tyres just for off road. I want peoples opinion on whether I should go with a set of 33" Simex Jungle Trekkers or a set of 32" Simex Centipedes. Advice on for and against of these tyres would be appreciated. The car has a three inch suspension lift soon to be four.

well that kind of lift will run both easy, but if you have a 4" consider 34 JTs or 35 pedes (if you cut the guards a little) rather than the 33s or 32s.

JTs are not a directional tyre whereas a pede is. so reversing, a JT would be better in theory.
jts i believe work better on the rocks while pedes work better in the mud

my first set of off road tyres were 34" jungle trekkers and now i have 35 centipedes, and havent looked back, although i havent given them much of a test yet.

thats about all i can think of at the moment

Would both the front and rear guards needs to be cut? Because at the moment there is a fair bit of clearance at the front but not much at the back when the car is all crossed up.

if you are going 4" suspension lift is a lwb, do a body lift & fit 35" pedes. onl;y way to go

Don't need the body lift for 35s

just with 3-4" suspension you can run 35 or 36 simexs ET's or 36 swampers, just might need a bit of cutting and extended bumpstops

Why would you even think of 32's? If your serious about your wheeling, and your thinking of a second set go for a worthwile upgrade. Otherwise collect all the money you were going to give to the tyre shop man, place it in the bowl and press "half flush".

yeah I had 32 muddies when I first bought mine, and your draggin the chassis over everything. I've got 33 swampers at the moment, and that little bit of difference in height made all the difference for comfortable wheelin.... but 35-36 are the go, especially with 4" lift. I will go this way at a later stage.

Geez now all of these ideas are in my head I might go bigger. I didn't really consider a 35" tyre because I thought a 4" lift wouldn't be enough. But I need a new set of flares so some flare rubber, a grinder and 35's might be the way to go. Thanks for the input peoples.

Go the 33" Jungle Trekker II's.

They kicked ass on "The Burrow" at the Nissan Trials.

On second thoughts don't dick around with suspension and tyres. Get an Air Locker in the front and you will go further than with an extra inch and new tyres.

you won't go further if you diff's are hung up due to lack of clearance
