I have the opportunity to get a GU coil cab 1999 model pretty cheap, but it has the non-turbo early motor in it? what are they like? Would 2 grand be enough to get a turbo fitted to it? maybe an intercooler as well? What do you nissan guys think...

oh, your looking at the factory kits, they have had them for sale on here for a grand, but the wreakers want around the 3500 mark too, as i have made enquiries for the factory td42 turbo kits........

If your looking at fitting a turbo up I wouldn't bother getting the factory turbo fitted. Friends of mine origonaly had a GQ wagon with an aftermarket turbo and were realy happy with it.
They now have a factory turbo GU wagon and they aren't happy with it. Got no guts especialy down low and if there towing there camper they have 2 put it in low range 2 take off on hills
Go

Go aftermarket, garrett or schwiezer (spelling??).
Had schwizer on TD42 91 running 12psi modded fuel pump 3 inch mandrell bent exhaust @ 165hp at the rears. Went well!
If you want someone to fit it, I'd allow 4k plus exhaust, then you may even have some change!
