hi guys i got my 2nd hand axel after snapping the old one , but it was differant to the origional one .
this one had a wider retainer than the axel i snapped , i went back to the wreckers and got the right one

why would they have differant axels for the 3.0 paj

i took the diff out so ARB could repair the minor damage i done to the locker , i must say its a heavey little bastard when your laying on your back , had to use my trolley jack to get it back in

When you say retainer do you mean the bearing retainer or the 4 bolt flange ?? Could have been an aftermarket (different) bearing & retainer ??
The earlier V6 ones are about 0.5" shorter with differerent bearing retainers. All the Gen 2 3.0 V6 ones I've seen have all been the same the 3.5 V6 axles are thicker with a different retainer and about 1" longer.

From what I have seen Dino you can identify the axle you want by the number on the end, inside the rim locating circle.

the retainer is just a steel collar that is pressed on and has a circlip to position it

dont no why they bother with the circlip because when i watch the mechanic hanging of his 50ton press i thought this thing ant gonna move
