changed the coolant in my tb42 on the weekend, reverse flushed the motor etc etc and whatdayaknow, the frigging water pump decided to burst a leak (if i just left it alone dammit !)

as far as i can understand you cant fix them, you gotta replace them right ?

my old suburu had a solenoid that after time would wear, and spring a leak. this was how you would know it was time to replace the pump (stupid hey ?)

the nissan ones dont have anything stupid like this do they ?

3rd question, i know a lot of the comp guys fit higher flowing pumps, anyone know where i can get one, price ??

otherwise, if i fit a replacement part whats wrong with the repco one ?

why does everyone go for the genuine ?

thanks guys

and yes, ive done a search and read the other posts :)

I saw a write up in 4wdmonthly recently on a high flow electric water pump that replaces the standard unit in pretty much any vehicle. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me, bit exxy from memory though.
