Yep, I test drove a GQ when I was looking for mine, was quite nice to drive and went great in the soft sand when it was demo-ed to me.

But, if your after a Diesel, then I would say no. SWB Diesels are very rare, and Diesel GQ Autos are probably rarer, so I wouldnt like your chances of finding a combination of the two.

If you are after a swb GQ auto. Try one of the import places, as from memory a number of these why TD42's with an auto. And the only real differance is that they are 24V engine bays. Buyt think everything else is 12V.

Hi,

I use to own a Feroza as well, and the first shock you will encounter with owning a 4.2 petrol GQ is the fuel con$umption! Mine is dual fuel so that makes it a cheap guzzler! :D

Things to look out for in my experience:
1. Check if the cylinder head is cracked. TB42 engines are prone to this.
2. Due to its age the auto box will probably need an overhaul soon.
3. Rust around the rear side window frames
4. Misfiring ignition system which may require mods to sort it.

Apart from that, I love my SWB GQ! Its awesome offroad and are built tough.

The only thing I would replace my GQ for is a 4.2 diesel GU. :D

Cheers,

Rod
