I may be able to get a cheap RD23 ARB locker. i just need to know what these go into.
Will this fit a rear 93 ln106 centre that curently has an LSD?
will it fit the rear of my old mans car. an 85 lux, yn65 i think?
Also if it fits the my lux, could i swap the centres front to rear and save the LSD for the front??
Cheers

rd23 will fit in the rear of the ln106 lux
is it just the locker by its self or is it installed in the carrier with the gears etc
not worth putting the lsd in the front

Ok, i'll give the LSD in the front a miss.
its just the locker on its own. Is the fact that it would be going into a centre that is already LSD a problem??
Does an 85 lux and a 93 lux have the same rear diff centre?? will an RD23 fit either?

Why are LSD's suicidal in the front?

spazbot, you seem to be pritty cluey. do you know if the RD23 will also go in the rear of an 85 lux?
ive been told they are suposed to have an RD01 (or something), but have been told that the RD23 will fit as long as it is installed with the bigger bearings.

yeah for the 85 model you will need to get the diff center with larger bearings

Ok, i understand what i can do with the locker.
but, why would an LSD in the front be near suicidal?? i thought having an LSD in the front would be a lot less harsh as compared to an automatic locker and would be alot smoother.
on road would be unaffected because of the manual hubs.

they arnt suicidal i would think the only reason they would cause suicide is when you find out you wasted your hard earned coin putting it into the front and it does sfa.
Toyota lsds are shit. Yes you can get em rebuilt and shimed up but they dont last long and not worth the time money or effort, better off saving for another locker...

Lsd's in the front are bad for the same reason that detroits are. The tourque steer isn't as violent but still poses a problem, but like spaz said if its a yota one it probably wont do dick.

i may be wrong but as far as i know they come in 43mm and 50 mm bearings. the 50 mm for the lsd. if the locker has the 43mm bearings you can buy the 50mm bearing and sleave them to fit on the 43mm locker.
