Histeer & Commo V6 sump

Post by Scott »

I've got a snake hi steer setup that I want to install into my Hilux with a commo V6. The engine currently has the standard VN sump and will probably hit the histeer.

I've been told to get a reversed sump from Marks, but have just had a look and noticed they sell two different sumps, one for IFS Hilux and one for Bunderas. From the description it sounds like the Bundera one is the reversed sump and what I need.

Has anyone else used this sump in a Hilux? Is it going to cause any other unforseen problems?

i thought this might be useful, but it isn't.

is it possible to lift the engine? This has other advantages like ground clearance etc, may need a body lift to achieve this though.
Might be easier to just swap the sump. My engine is up high enough to clear the histeer. Standard vn series 1 motor in 84 lux.

If I have to, I'll do a body lift and lift the engine as well. But if I can get away with just swapping the sump I'd prefer to do that. My only concern is if the rear drop sump hits the diff (or something else) on the Hilux, so I'll climb under the car tonight and have a look.
