Spring sag

Well guys I think I have a problem with the zuk. It seems that the drivers side has settled very nicely, but the passenger side hasn’t sagged at all. It looks like the passenger side is about two/three inches higher. Then when I get in add about another inch. As you could imagine this looks pretty stupid when driving down the road. Not to mention the turning affect when going left.

Further I think I made it worse when on Monday night I went wheeling on some rocks and inverted the passenger side shackle, put the spring under a lot of load. Which in turn I think has put even more arch in it .

So to try and fix this I went wheeling on Tuesday night to try flatten the spring out, but it does seem to have worked.

Does anyone have a good idea on what to do?

At this stage I’m thinking about changing all the springs around. Front to rear, and side to side. The flattest spring is the rear drivers side, most arched is passenger side front. Another idea is to put 100kg in the front passenger side foot well.

Although for 1450 I could have coils…….hmmm

(ps: this ones for droopypete)

Sounds like a good idea to me, swapping doesn't cost anything :D

leaf springs have camber (I think that's the right name) so the front drivers is slightly lower to allow for the road camber. Doesn't help in a light car to then also have the battery and drivers weight adding to the effect. On mine we swapped leafs around till it balanced out somewhat. Moving the battery can help or adding some ballast to the left rear in the form of say a full jerry can or moving the spare tyre to the left

Yeah that might be it!

Well grimbo, I have a battery on both sides, no spare and a fuel tank that goes rail to rail. I will have to swap the springs I suppose

I'd say swap the springs dude. You want your highest spring as your drivers side rear. This spring is usually the highest in most suspension kits anyway.

If that dosent work then do what drew and I did to level mine out and cold press them ina pipe bender. Worked a treat!!!
