Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I remember reading somewhere that the land rover airbags need replacing every 10 years. I'm guessing some of the early 90's rangies had airbags so they're up for renewal and some people would know whats the go. When the time comes for our discovery (2007, a long way away) is it legal to just remove the aibag (and put a bling steering wheel in:twisted:) or do you have to replace it (im also guesssing that would not be cheap). I eventually want to turn the disco into a comp truck hence why I would like the airbag removed.

Anyone got a clue on the legalities of air bags?
