miss cough and fart

does any one know why my range rover coughs and farts when ever i put my foot down so far i have changed;


dizzy cap (even put old back on with new leads) rotor button (no points)
all leads and plugs
coil
fuel filter
oil in carbies
carbie rubbers (did note spring did not look to good will replace)
taken filter out of fuel pump
played with vac lines (some off pluged left open etc)

running out of things to change or check i need help (in more than one way)

I had a similar prob te other week, turned out that the pin on the bottom of the points plate which locks into the vac adv unit had come off and the whole plate was moving a bit when under load., new set of points and some adjustment and hey Presto..it runs fine again! (still sucks too much juice tho!)

think it may by carbie as it ran fine on one in the backyard (no load) runs rich which means real good fuel return

did have a 83? land rover who's points would shut as you drove down the road had to reset them 14 time in 9 days in the vic high country

i dont know anything about the rover carbys, but that sure sounds like a broken accelerator pump on any other carby.

Our 80RR had a massive cough/splutter under load.
Turned out to be the battery. About 11V.
Not enough ergitrons to run the coil under load (cruise was OK).
