Hi all,
after a snorkel, checked out these 3 and there seem pretty much the same, except for price! It ranges from $289 + $22 freight for 4wd systems, $340 airtech, and $416 Safari.
At the moment I'm looking at the airtech, can anyone give me a reason to spend another $76 for the Safari.
Or if any one wants to get rid of a snorkel for a HJ60, I'd be glad to wack that one on.
cheers

Safari are suposedly the least restrictive snorkles on the market.
Make sure you shop around on the price of the Safaris I found that Opposite lock were around $50-60 cheaper than ARB when I bought mine.

Use exhaust pipe with rubber elbows. Looks good.

Thats the budget option i guess.

i thought of this, but checked a few marine, plumbing and hardware places for rubber elbows and could not find any. Could you let me know where you saw them.

The biggest plus I have found for Safari over the others is the rubber joiners instead of expecting a clamped plastic on plastic joint to seal, when instead they often push themselves apart under clamping pressure.

i know the safari and airtek both have water catches to stop water reaching the air filter, is this a prob with the home made jobs?

Nope because you can still use the safari (or other brand) scoop which has the design to reduce the water intake from rain etc.

I sourced some elbows from my local bearing/industial supply shop, also agents for donaldson air cleaners and can supply scoops similar to old style safari.

i fit a few snorkels a week... as a fitter we prefer safrai..much easyer to fit unless its a navara airteck is good on them.

theres no differnce in perfomrnace etc for either just as good as each other.

dont know bout 4wd systems. never done any of theres

Found some the same as what i'm using at colrain truck parts, most truck shops should have them. Mine are 4 inch.
