Has anyone got Koni's fitted to a Feroza? Are they any good? My factory electronic shocks are shagged after 163000km (strange that!), so I'm looking for a replacement....

Ah, my first post!
Discovered this site by accident.

I got Konis fitted to a Rocky (leaf springs all round model) about 12 months ago and I reckon they are great.
A bit expensive compared to some other brands, but at least they can be rebuilt if your are planning on keeping them for a while.

yep

Hi Andy
I was looking at Konis for my Rocky (wide track) but at $200 a piece I opted for Rancho5000RS. Ranchos cost $500 for front and back .
I'm happy with them so far. Bit stiff on the road but really good once you
hit the gravel.
I'm not saying that ranchos are better then konis but certainly cheaper.

Yeah, I was thinking about Ranchos, but I've heard some bad stories. Some people seem to reckon they're too soft :?:

I've had Koni's on two vehicles (cars, not 4WDs) and really like them. It's just a pity about the price of them, although I haven't rung around yet for the Feroza- so I might get a pleasant surprise.

Talk about having a flashback into the past.
I read this post and thought to myself - I don't remember replying to that recently.

So that's when I joined outerlimits ...27th March 2003

Like they say 'once it's on the internet it's there forever'

Oh yes I forgot to mention the Konis are still going well

Konis are no longer made for the Feroza. I ended up with Bilsteins - expensive but very good ride and handling. If you've got a lift make sure you get a rear shock with longer extension. My Bilsteins weren't quite long enough with a 2"lift.

I've now got Monroes in the rear to fit a Commodore wagon (VK - VS rear standard height) They were the best I could find to fit for compressed and extended length but will only fit an F300 narrow track. The ride isn't anywhere near as good as the Bilsteins....
