Reverse shackle delemas

the Grimace funny shaped chassis and shackle are hitting so I thought about what i could do( unless anyone knows a better way) and i have to get the chassis insert about 20mm longer and put a spacer between the spring eye and lower part of shackle.
Ill use the old inserts to cut the 20mm spacers.
My question is will this work safely and will an engineer approve it.
Also will i need to weld in a crossmember to stop lateral movement in the shackle?
If i was to do it all over again i would of done it using the existing mounts with some custom shackles but i never thought about that did i

it would be better to weld in a new sleeve across the bottom of the chassis rather than through the middle like you have it there - adding spacers adds slop and you don't want that especially in the front. While you're at it, you might give some though to reinforcing the chassis with some 6mm plate around the shackle hanger to help it distribute some of the load instead if having it all concentrated where the sleeve goes through the frame.

So i should ditch my sleeve idea and add one of these....
Iwas originally going to do this but thought sleeve idea would be stronger after looking at hilux and rocky mounts.
agree with having to give it a bit of plating for strength.

originally I was thinking maybe you could just move the sleeve to the very bottom of the chassis section but now I am thinking that could cause some big loads across the bottom of the chassis rail which might be bad, so your remote bracket would be better. can you effectively shorten the shackle without compromising ride and articulation to ensure your ride height and caster angles don't go bad?

I'm no engineer but I am sure they will balk at what you have done.
I would (and probably will soon myself) but the spring hanger mount and go that way.
That part of you chassis wasn't designed for that load that way. The hole will flog out or worse still you will crack and fatigue your chassis.
Just my opinion.
Any way we could all use a bit of extra height couldn't we???
