Went upto Toolangi then King Lake on wednesday... We decided to vere off and go down a narrow trail, seemingly a bike trail. Anyways we decided to go over a fallen tree.. to cut a long story short.... Bye bye side step...

I do prefer the look of the beast without them, but i now know just how much I used them...

Here are a couple of clips from the trip.

And some clips from last trip..

The Toyota Tercel certain kept up with the Feroza and the Landcruiser, to a degree.. But all comes down to how hard your willing to push your car i guess... But it was a pisser seeing it get stuck with all 4 wheels off the ground..

Any suggestions on what to do about replacing the side steps with sliders??

Tp be fair they are only meant to be "steps", not sliders. And they did hit fairly hard! Even that Landcruiser's step touched when it went over.

Was there any damage to the sill at all Dan?

I'm gettin my slidders done by Surfection, everyone recommends him, and if you have seen Ferog's 80 you will see what his slidders look like.
Very tough, all the guys have said they are indestructible..!! Good luck.

and girl- I put them hard to the test at Tenterfiled OL Wild weekend 2. Full Weight of an 80 series with 35's lifting the front end up both wheels and then landing on river rock one silder on the side... They are good.....and never never associate a side step to any form of panel protection.
